Religious Life Ministries assist parents in their role as primary educators of the Catholic faith in providing ongoing religious education programs for their children and also assist them and other adults in furthering their own lifelong learning and enrichment of their faith in God. Volunteers are needed in all areas of religious education.

Children's Church - Children from ages 3-7 are dismissed in Mass before the Liturgy of the Word to learn more about the Sacred Scripture readings for the Mass and how they may apply to their lives today. They return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Catechists provide these lessons in the Parish Hall each Sunday during 9:00 am and 11:00am Mass.

Parish School of Religion - Catechists support parents whose children attend non-Catholic schools in growing in their awareness of the presence of God and teach their children to live the Gospel as part of a believing community. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in an ongoing process of workshops and seminars provided by the Parish and the Diocese. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons from September to April.

Sacramental Preparation - Faith-filled programs to prepare candidates to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are provided by trained catechists.

Baptismal preparations include coordinating the training of parents and godparents, setting up for the baptism in the baptistery and recording the baptisms in church records.

Marriage Preparation – volunteer married couples meet with and share their faith with engaged couples in their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. It includes FOCCUS, facilitating open couple communications, understanding and study.

Vacation Bible School - Each summer children in grades pre-K through 6th grade have a fun and faith-filled week learning more about their Catholic faith. Volunteers needed to teach, provide crafts, provide snacks, recreation, music for the morning gatherings. Student volunteers can earn service hours.

O.C.I.A. and O.C.I.C. (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults and Children) assist those inquiring about joining the Catholic Church through a process beginning with Inquiry in the fall, catechumenate with more in-depth catechesis, purification and enlightenment during Lent, reception of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at Easter followed by mystagogy where the new members are more fully embraced into the community of the Church through its ministries.

“Update Only” – all parishioners interested in updating their knowledge of the Catholic Church are encouraged to join us with those inquiring about joining our Church.

Adult Confirmation provides 5-6 weeks review of Catholicism for those parishioners who have already received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Holy Communion but not Confirmation. Classes are provided after Easter, and Confirmation by Bishop Duca is held on Pentecost Sunday
